In the spirit of the Biblical passage from which it draws its name, Matthew 25’s mission is to empower low-income families in Worcester and Boston, Massachusetts, by providing housing and food assistance. Matthew 25 accomplishes this goal by:
Acquiring abandoned properties in Worcester and Boston.
Engaging volunteers from the community to renovate the properties.
Renting the remodeled homes to low-income families at a percentage of their income.

Founded in 1988 by Rev. Fred M. Enman, S.J., Matthew 25 is a private non-profit corporation whose mission is to provide food and housing relief to people in need. Matthew 25 purchases and renovates properties in Worcester and Boston, Massachusetts with the help of volunteers and community partners who donate their time and resources. Matthew 25 co-founder Rev. Fred M. Enman, S.J., was born in Worcester in 1952. He entered the Jesuit novitiate in 1978 and was ordained a Catholic priest. Fr. Fred holds degrees from Wesleyan University (Middletown, Connecticut), Boston College, Boston College Law School, the Weston Jesuit School of Theology and Oxford University. Fr. Fred serves as Executive Director of Matthew 25. For his work with Matthew 25, Fr. Fred has received the Isaac Hecker Award for Social Justice and the John W.
